Stevens Competes in Gumbo Nationals

Tyler Stevens trekked southeast to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) over the weekend, where he entered the 14th annual Gumbo Nationals. The $3,000-to-win All Star Racing Series event drew a field of 35 Crate Late Models, and Tyler kicked off his weekend on Friday night by qualifying 11th fastest to earn the sixth-starting spot for a heat race.

Despite starting deep on the grid in his heat race, Tyler quickly found his groove as he worked his way through the pack. He briefly took the lead before getting door slammed, which relegated him to a third-place finish.

He started ninth in Saturday night’s finale, but would unfortunately be an early retiree to a 20th-place finish.
