Stevens Battles Bad Luck at Batesville
Tyler Stevens kicked off the the fifth annual Race for Hope 71 on Wednesday night at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.) as 100 drivers crammed into the pit area. Tyler drew the seventh-starting position for his heat race, and was able to advance to a fourth-place finish.
His heat performance left him short of locking into the main event. Tyler started the B-Main in 17th and passed 10 cars to finish seventh, which left him short of qualifying for the prelim feature as his night came to an early end.
Stevens returned to the 3/8-mile oval on Thursday night looking for better luck in the second round of the mega event. Unfortunately, his luck would be poor again. With a DNF in his heat, Tyler made the decision to scratch from the balance of the program and the weekend.
He’ll be heading south to Louisiana’s Super Bee Speedway to compete in Friday and Saturday’s $50,000-to-win Super Bee 100 in the Crate Late Model division.
