Stevens Races in Arkansas and Louisiana
Weekend COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model action found Tyler Stevens kicking things off on Friday with a trip to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La). Twenty-five entries were on hand for the $3,000-to-win event.
Prelim action positioned Tyler 11th on the starting grid for the feature. On a bottom dominant track, he passed two cars to finish ninth.
On Saturday evening the team rolled into I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) for the sixth annual Will McGary Memorial. The $5,000-to-win affair drew a field of 29 Super Late Models to the Tracey Clay-promoted oval.
Tyler qualified fifth fastest in his group and then advanced to a second-place finish in his heat race to lock into the fifth-starting spot for the 40-lap finale.
Stevens raced in the Top 5 throughout the feature before crossing the line in fifth behind Garrett Alberson, Mason Oberkramer, Logan Martin, and Brian Rickman.
Tyler continues to lead the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year points, and is fifth in the overall CCSDS standings.
