Tyler Stevens to Debut a Category 5 Race Car at Florence Speedway
Prepping for His First North/South 100
SEARCY, Ark. (08/07/24) – Tyler Stevens is busily preparing for his first Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 at Florence Speedway this upcoming weekend and has an exciting announcement regarding his race team.
The driver of the Keith Hammett Trucking & Construction LLC No. 2 Super Late Model will be adding a Category 5 Race Car to his stable and will debut his new ride at the half-mile oval located in Union, Kentucky.
“First of all, I want to say a big thanks to Keith Hammett for all that he has done for me and my race team,” Stevens said. “Keith has been an avid supporter throughout my career and I am excited where our program is headed. 2024 has been a great year for me but I am ready for the next chapter.”
Stevens also noted his eagerness to team up with Stormy Scott and the whole team at Category 5 Race Cars.
“Stormy and I have raced together for several years in Modifieds and moved to Late Models roughly around the same time. I think that we both have similar driving styles and look for a similar feel in a car, so we have high hopes this will help us both. Also, having a legendary crew chief like Jason Durham in your corner never hurts either.”
The Searcy, Ark., native has already amassed two wins on the season but is excited about the change and the opportunity in a new chassis.
“Along with us both working closely with Penske Racing Shocks, I feel like this will be a tremendous opportunity for success for everyone involved. I look forward to debuting our new Category 5 Race Car this weekend at the famous Florence Speedway for the North South 100!”
The Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 weekend kicks off with twin $6,000-to-win programs on Thursday and Friday followed by a $75,000-to-win finale on Saturday. The entire Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tripleheader will be aired on FloRacing.
